2026 Summer Holiday – Chester, Monday 1st June – 5th June 2026
A holiday has been arranged to Chester, from Monday 1st June – 5th June 2026. We will stay at the Mercure Hotel, Chester (4 Star). The hotel has 2 acres of landscaped gardens and is 2 miles from the city centre. It has spa facilities and a pool.
There will be a stop on the way for coffee and lunch, probably at Trentham Gardens.
The plan is to spend time visiting Chester, the Iron Works at Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Bodnant Gardens (National Trust), Llandudno and Blist Hill. (Blist Hill may be a visit on the way home) The complete itinerary is yet to be confirmed.
The cost of the holiday, based on 40 paying people will be £600 sharing a double room. The single rooms have all gone..
The price includes travel, bed, breakfast and evening meal, driver’s tip, entrance to the Iron Works and Blist Hill. Bodnant Gardens is free for National Trust members and about £20 for non-members.
40 people are needed for this trip to be viable. To secure a place a deposit of £50 per person is required, the balance will be required by mid-April. You will be informed once the trip is viable.
