We are planning to take a guided tour of the Royal Mint on Saturday 17^th October.

The Royal Mint Experience is located in Llantrisant which is just 20 minutes away from Cardiff. Since it opened in 2016, The Royal Mint Experience has become one of the top-rated tourist attractions in South Wales. The guided tour provides unprecedented access to The Royal Mint and its 1000 year history.  

Before the tour commences, all visitors will undergo a security check which is essential to ensure we are safe at all times.

During the tour we will learn how the coins in our pockets are made – from design to distribution. We will learn about the methods used to ensure the extraordinary coins are amongst the most secure in the world.

We will get exclusive access to the Circulating Coin Room where the UK’s coins have been made since 1968.

After the tour is completed, we can enjoy the exhibition which is home to some of the most important and historic numismatic artefacts.

There is also a café and gift shop which stocks recent coin releases and quality mementos.

After the tour of The Royal Mint, we will spend some time in Cardiff leaving there at 16.00 to be back in Weston by 17.30.

• Date: Saturday 17^th October 2026
• Departure: 9:00am from Locking Road Car Park
• Pick-ups: Farm Foods, Esso Garage, and Lidl near to the Summerhouse
• Return from Cardiff: 4:00pm
• Approx. arrival in Weston: 5:30pm
• Cost: £35 (includes coach fare, entry fee and driver’s tip)
