Our group used to be called Somerset Villages but after speaking to a lady who runs a similar group at Wells u3a, I changed the title to Out and About as it gives more scope to where we go.  

Our usual plan is to meet at a venue, be it village cafe or similar for coffee, then we have a walk around the village to include the church and end up in the local pub for lunch. I try to find a local guide to take us around as this makes the visit so much more informative and interesting.   

In the early days of the group it would continue after lunch with a further walk, but we no longer do this.  We are not a walking group as such, and potter around our chosen venue as one or two members have mobility problems.   There are about 20 of us in the group but not everyone comes on every outing.

We are no longer restricted to villages, so can go to a Garden Centre or museum or other places of interest. 

We have been having a bit of a break for one reason or another. If our group has met, it has just been an informal get together for coffee or lunch somewhere, usually Weston Museum. We have no outings planned at present but please contact the Group Leader for more information via the Group email link.
