Speaker - Stephen Parker

This fully illustrated talk will take us on a trip to the island of Steep Holm in the Severn Estuary. Just off Weston-super-Mare, the island is home to a range of uncommon wildflowers, slow worms, Muntjac deer and hundreds of breeding gulls. Managed by a small local trust this talk will give you an insight to this remote and strangely beautiful island.

Stephen was born in Maidstone in 1958 he grew up in the Kent Countryside and has always had a keen interest in Natural History. Since the 1980s he's worked in nature conservation and retired from his job for Natural England in 2021, however, plainly in high demand he was immediately elected as chair of the Kenneth Allstop Memorial Trust the owners of the island.
