Speaker – Jo Richardson FRAS
The International Space Station is one of the World’s greatest technological achievements. In this talk Jo takes a look at life and work on board and how this science is not only furthering our knowledge of Space, but is also fundamental to our life here on Planet Earth as well.
Jo Richardson is the Event Co-Ordinator and organizer for the Wells and Mendip Astronomers plus she has links to the Somerset Levels Stargazers, North Devon Astro and Go Stargazing!
She work tirelessly to promote the benefits of dark skies and is the resident astronomer for Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Reserve, as well as part time advisor to other National Parks and to organisations such as the Yorkshire Dales, Cranborne Chase and the North York Moors. Her long-held belief is "If I manage to inspire just one person to “look up” and see what lies beyond the remit of our home planet, then my job has been wholly worthwhile."
