CHAIR’S REPORT
I extend a warm welcome to our new and existing members who have supported our Weston u3a and Committee Members throughout the year.
We will be holding our AGM on Friday 23rd October at The Blakehay Theatre starting at 2.30 pm, doors opening at 2pm. The Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and all the other serving Committee Members will be elected or re-elected and is a very important date for all our members. It is very important that as many of you members attend to make the meeting quorate so that our Weston super Mare u3a can continue running. Refreshments can be purchased in the cafe/bar area in the Theatre.
We have over 900 members and 70 groups and I would like to thank all our Group Leaders and Trip Organisers for helping to make our club as successful as it is. There is always a place for anyone who would like to run a group and can contact our Groups Coordinator Jenny Schofield who will be happy to give help and guidance.
I would like to thank our Coffee Morning Team who do a wonderful job in making our Coffee Mornings successful.
A date for your diary. Following our last coffee morning of 2026 our Annual Carol Service will be held at All Saints Church on the 15th December 2026 at 2pm. All are very welcome with mulled wine, tea, coffee and a mince pie being served after the service to everyone who can attend. There will be baskets around the church for anyone wishing to make a donation. Proceeds will be split between our Weston Hospice and All Saints Church.
So thank you to my Committee who have supported and guided me so well over the past nine months.
